Music Video Remakes




For the first video which is the Black & White one we had to film this by using different angles and a vary of different shot types this allowed us to edit them into one video and make it seem that more was going on. After we editing the short clips together in Premier Pro by selecting the clip we wanted and dragging it into an earlier timeline whilst holding down Ctrl/Cmd + Alt when the clip reached the section where we wanted it to be we released the selection button and the modifier keys. I learnt to do this by watching clips on the Adobe Support website, this will now help me for when I am making my own music video I will have more knowledge on what editing techniques I will need to know in order for my music video to look professional and realistic. Following this step, I made the video B&W which I also learnt to do using tutorials which was easier to do than I expected. To change the video into B&W we had to click the effects which opens the video effects folder then open the video control folder and the drag the B&W function over the clip which will automatically turn the clip into B&W. 

 On the next video we were figuring out how to change the Opacity so that there is more than one thing going on in the clip similarly to the Adele music video 'Send My Love'. To film this clip we had too film more than one video in order for it to work as it is loads of videos playing at the same time with different opacities so that you can identify them all. To edit this video we put all the different layers onto the timeline making some over lap so that they were playing at the same time then we selected the effects control tab in the monitor window, after we clicked the triangle shape next to the opacity property to expand it, I then dragged the slider to expand the opacity level or make it smaller. By editing this it gave me more skills in using premier pro which I can then use when videoing my music video.

 This task has gave me more knowledge and skills in using the software 'Premier Pro' which will allow me to make a more professional and realistic music video to get the best grade that I can.

Andrew Goodwin Analysis

Reflection  By researching into Andrew Goodwin's theory I have developed ideas for my music video. The ideas I have developed are that the lyrics need to match the visuals in order for the video to make sense to the audience. If the lyrics don't match the visuals it will create confusion to the audience and make it a poor music video. Another thing is the genre characteristics so if I was making a pop genre music video it needs to follow the forms and conventions of a pop music video such as bright and vibrant colours usually showing off their lifestyle. There will be more than one costume for each different locations which are used.

Genre Research

By researching into different genres it allowed me to understand the concept of genre and the forms and conventions of each one. Each genre has different forms and conventions which makes it recgnoisible to be that certain genre. From this research I intend to use the genre pop for my music video as this is the genre I listen too and I feel like this is the genre id be able to represent and make the video look profesional and realistic.
